Coriolis Coils
High-Performance Coriolis Coils for Precision Flow Measurement
Anstee Coil Technology is a global manufacturer of high-performance Coriolis coils, supplying bespoke coil, wiring, and cable solutions for demanding flow measurement applications worldwide.
We specialise exclusively in electromagnetic coil sub-assemblies for OEM flowmeter production and repair – we do not manufacture or supply complete Coriolis mass flowmeter bodies or electronic transmitters.
Our Coriolis coils are engineered for ultra-high accuracy, phase stability, and long-term reliability in high-temperature and extreme industrial environments where measurement precision is critical. With decades of specialist experience, we support OEM engineers and meter manufacturers across the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and food processing sectors.
Coriolis Coil Manufacturing Expertise
Coriolis mass flowmeters place exceptionally high demands on coil symmetry, material selection, turn-count uniformity, and thermal stability. Our manufacturing processes are optimized specifically to meet these rigorous parameters consistently.
We produce bespoke drive and pick-off coils in dimensional profiles from 3 mm up to 100 mm, utilising high-grade magnetic wire, advanced potting resins, and controlled winding techniques to guarantee zero phase-angle distortion and long-term signal clarity.

Governing Physics & Mass Flow Phase Measurement
The precision of a Coriolis mass flowmeter relies directly on detecting the twist induced in vibrating sensor tubes. The primary governing equation for mass flow measurement is:
m_dot = K · Δt
Where m_dot is the mass flow rate, K is a structural tube stiffness factor, and Δt is the microsecond phase-angle time lag detected between the inlet and outlet sensor coils.
Because Δt is measured in nanoseconds to microseconds, any asymmetry or inductance drift between pick-off coils creates direct flow measurement errors. Anstee Coil manufactures drive and sensor pairs with matched DC resistance, tight inductance tolerances, and thermal stability to preserve absolute phase accuracy.

Designed for Extreme Thermal & High-Vibration Environments
Coriolis mass flow measurement relies on measuring subtle phase shifts in vibrating sensor tubes. Because of this, continuous thermal cycling, fluid pulsation, and mechanical stress can degrade poorly constructed coils.
By implementing high-temperature Class C insulation, precision Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI), and vibration-dampened bobbin encapsulation, Anstee coils preserve tight magnetic tolerances and prevent microphonic noise across their entire operating lifespan.

Global Manufacturing & Tri-Region Delivery
Anstee Coil Technology delivers Coriolis coils globally, serving OEM clients across Europe, Asia, North America, and Latin America. We provide identical quality standards, ISO 9001 compliance, and fast turnarounds from our state-of-the-art facilities located in the UK, China, and Mexico.
-
Yes. We manufacture both high-efficiency drive coils (used to vibrate the measuring tubes) and ultra-precise electro-dynamic pick-off sensor coils (used to detect phase shift time lags across the inlet and outlet tubes).
-
Our standard Coriolis coils operate reliably up to Class H (180°C). For extreme temperature process lines, steam cleaning (SIP/CIP), or cryogenic applications, we supply ultra-high-temperature coils rated up to 350°C using specialised ceramic/polyimide insulation and ceramic matrix encapsulation.
-
Yes. We manufacture Coriolis coil sub-assemblies according to ATEX and IECEx standards for use in explosive atmospheres (such as oil and gas processing or chemical refining), supplying low-energy, encapsulated coils suitable for intrinsically safe (Ex i) design integration.
-
We utilise automatic CNC micro-winding equipment combined with high-resolution turn-count sensors to ensure matched coil pairs. Every pair undergoes strict resistance, inductance, and phase-angle validation to prevent zero-point drift.
-
Yes. We provide complete integrated assemblies, including specialised high-temperature lead wires, shielded cabling, overmoulded strain-relief headers, and finished wiring harnesses ready for direct installation into your flowmeter sensor housing.
-
By maintaining a wide stock of exotic magnet wire and using in-house 3D-printed bobbin prototyping, we typically deliver custom prototype coils within 2 to 5 working days for standard material configurations.
-
Drive coils (excitation coils) provide continuous kinetic energy to vibrate the flowmeter tubes at their natural resonant frequency. Pick-off coils (electromagnetic sensing coils) measure the precise phase shift and time difference (Δt) between the inlet and outlet tube oscillations, which is directly proportional to mass flow rate (ṁ).

The principle behind coriolis flowmeters for measuring mass flow rather than volumetric flow is named after Gaspard Gustave de Coriolis. He was the French mathematician and engineer who first described the behaviour of objects in a rotating frame of reference – the Coriolis Effect. His name, along with André-Marie Ampère’s, is now engraved on the Eifel Tower in Paris
